What We Do
Sow Much Good empowers those groups who subsist in urban food deserts or otherwise lack the means of obtaining healthy and nutritionally dense food products, with the knowledge and tools to significantly impact the quality of their lives through nutrition. Through charitable and production gardening, we provide organic foods to marginalized populations and create opportunities for individuals to take part in the development of local, sustainable food source creation.
How We Do It
Through organic micro farming, community partnerships and direct education initiatives, Sow Much Good provides access to organic produce in under served populations. By way of comprehensive tools and programs that develop skills that promote self-reliance, environmental responsibility and healthy dietary habits, we utilize the satisfying experience of planting, cultivating, and harvesting fruits and vegetables to encourage physical activity and also create a lifelong appreciation for healthy living.
Why We Do It
Our core goals are intended to address the disproportionate incidence of diabetes, obesity, heart disease, hypertension and other preventable diseases that are most markedly seen in low income, under served and under represented populations. Our mission is to eliminate socioeconomic, racial and ethnic health disparities resulting from lack of access to nutritionally dense food products based on status, geographic location or any combination of factors that serve to marginalize groups of people.
