GARDEN ARTIST: NATURE INSPIRATION June 13th – June 24th
Campers will create art in different forms and disciplines— getting inspiration from nature. Each day a guest artist will offer guided exercises in visual art, dance, music, painting and creative & reflective writing . Each student in each learning experience will learn the basics of planting seeds
and understanding the soil.
THE FRESH FOOD NETWORK *** June 27th -July 8th
The Fresh Food Network is all about cooking fresh food and loving it. All the vegetables you avoid could be your favorites after you finish the fresh food network. Students will also shoot and edit video for a real, live, SMG cooking show. At the end of the two weeks we’ll host a premiere of the cooking shows our very own SMG outdoor theatre allowing participants to showcase their learnings.*** Additional $100 Technology Fee
STOP HUNGER GAMES July 11th– July 22nd
“Victors” will learn how to save the world and will be responsible for protecting one element of the ecosystem. They will become knowledgeable about animal maintenance, soil health, pollinator protection and composting and more. The victors will go on a community service mission that will allow students to see the scope of need in our community, and the opportunity to serve in different regions of the Charlotte area.
SURVIVOR: LIVING OFF THE GRID July 25th – Aug. 8th
Campers will learn basic survival skills to live off-the-grid developing skills like making fabric, collecting and storing seeds, canning food, making cheese and butter, soaps, candles, lotions, clothing, basket weaving and gourd use. There will be fun team challenges to test how well students work together and how well they’ve learned each skill. Your child will learn very useful life skillswhile also having good outdoor fun this summer.
