Wells Fargo Invited Robin Emmons to Speak to CIC Green Team

Robin Emmons presented topics related to healthy living and organic products

Wells Fargo’s Customer Information Center campus invited Robin Emmons, executive director and founder of Sow Much Good (SMG), to speak to its employee sustainability group, The Green Team, on Oct. 4th. Robin spoke on the topic, “Why Organic?”

Emmons’ shed light on why it’s important to eat organic products while pointing out health tips along the way. She explained why organic food appears to be more expensive and how to alleviate those costs. Robin also spoke on:

  • What chemicals are in our food.
  • Why do companies use these chemicals.
  • How pesticides and chemicals destroy you and nature.
  • Nature already has it figured out, natural ways to grow and get rid of pests.

Wells Fargo CIC Green Team focuses on the vision of creating a safer living environment for surrounding communities in Charlotte. Since, Sow Much Good Inc. is the hub for nutritional education and resources in Mecklenburg County, Emmons was perfect speaker choice to close out their volunteer year.

Since its inception in 2008, Sow Much Good has saved hundreds people from nutritional starvation. The fight against socioeconomic, racial and ethnic health disparities has pushed Sow Much Good to the forefront of the food revolution.

Over 73,000 people in Mecklenburg County live in a neighborhoods or food deserts that don’t have access to nutritious resources and Sow Much Good’s mission is to serve that population. Wells is dedicated to providing environmental friendly means to help better serve the community through Environment Relations.
